1 Housings: Construct of steel, powdered coated or galvanized inside and out. Design housing to enclose fan, motor, and coil, design fan orifice formed into discharge panel.
2 Fans: Backward inclined, plug type. Construct of aluminum and factory-balance. Design so motor and fan assembly is removable through fan outlet panel.
C Coils: Construct of nickel-plated steel fins, mechanically bonded to 300 series stainless or carbon steel sheath. Open coil is not acceptable. Coil to be high grade, high temperature, nickel chromium alloy wire sheathed in a ceramic core and magnesium oxide. Coil to be located at the discharge of the air curtain.
D Motors: Provide totally enclosed motors, with built-in overload protection, having electrical characteristics as scheduled.
E Manufacturer: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide air curtain of one of the following:

DELIVERY, HANDLING AND STORAGE:
A. Units shall be shipped in heavy-duty cardboard enclosures and shall be delivered to jobsite or warehouse and shall be thoroughly inspected for freight damage and noted on delivery receipt.
B. Units shall be stored in a dry area until installation is required
Units shall be transported in factory crates in a safe and cautious manner.
A. Installation shall be by persons knowledgeable in installing mechanical devices and shall follow installation instructions provided in each unit.
B. Units shall be installed in one of the following three manners;
1. Threaded rod mounting. Each unit shall be hung on min. ¼” threaded rod and shall be double nutted to prevent unthreading of rod due to vibration. A minimum of 4 rods shall be used to hang each unit and shall be attached to the structure above. This means of attachment is recommended when the structure is drywall construction where a solid attachment is questionable.
2. Masonry attachment. When the structure is masonry construction a cradle is utilized to hold the Air Curtain. The cradle is attached via masonry anchors to the structure with 5/16” (minimum 6 per unit).
These mounting holes will be field drilled in the cradle to locate and utilize optimum attachment strength.
3. Soffit Mounting. A ceiling mount is optional where the unit can hang from the ceiling. Threaded studs shall be bolted through the framing prior to installation of drywall. Hanging studs shall be double nutted to prevent loosening of stud nuts due to vibration. *ACCS cannot be soffit mounted.
4. Units may be mounted side by side in a multiple configuration. Where two or more units are desired a slave/master combination shall be used. One master can power 2 slaves if 480V/3 phase is used. See schedules on quantities.
A General: Install electrical devices furnished by manufacturer but not specified to be factory-mounted. Furnish copy of manufacturer's wiring diagram submittal to Electric Installer.
1 Verify that electrical wiring installation is in accordance with manufacturer's submittal and installation requirements of Division-16 sections. Do not proceed with equipment start-up until wiring installation is acceptable to equipment installer.
A General: After construction is completed, including painting, clean unit exposed surfaces, vacuum clean exterior and interior of cabinets.
B Retouch any marred or scratched surfaces of factory-finished cabinets, using finish materials furnished by manufacturer.
